Recently, our interest in Astronomy has been rekindled.  We have been away from the hobby for about 17 years, mostly because of the light pollution in the big cities where we choose to live, and the hassle involved in loading up our 16" Cassegrain telescope that we owned back then, and hauling it up to the mountains or other places far from the city lights.

I think our four-wheeling adventures to places like Hot Springs and Moab, where dark skies can still be found, got us thinking about the beauty in the skies again.   So we purchased a more modern 8" Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope (considerably more portable) and a SBIG ST-237 CCD Camera, with the idea of taking photographs of some of the celestial objects that we had previously only viewed.

That way, not only can we enjoy the night skies, but we can share them with others.
